New Delhi: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Monday said the annual recruitment calendar released by the Railway Recruitment Board on February 3 has multiple benefits for candidates who want to participate in this recruitment.
The annual calendar identifies the recruitment months for different job categories.
As per the calendar, the Railway Recruitment Board releases notification for the recruitment of Assistant Locomotive Drivers from January to March every year.
April, May and June have been earmarked for recruitment into technical positions. Aspirants who wish to join Railways for junior engineer, paramedic and non-technical posts will be considered from July to September.
Recruitment for Level 1, Ministerial and Isolated categories has been scheduled between October and December.
“Employment notifications are released four times a year for each category so that more and more candidates get a chance to participate. Earlier, when recruitment drives were held after a gap of three to four years, many candidates missed out due to age limit This opportunity,” Vaishnaw said. Railway officials said the calendar will have multiple benefits such as providing more opportunities if candidates fail to qualify in the first attempt.
“Suppose a candidate applies for the Assistant Pilot position between January and March and is disqualified, he or she can get another chance next year. If the same candidate has the required academic qualifications for the Technician position, he or she can apply in April of the same year Apply between March and June,” said a senior railway official.
