DALLAS, Texas, Feb. 7, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Meeting Professionals International (MPI), the largest global meetings and events industry organization with more than 12,000 members, has announced the upcoming annual Meetings and Events Conference (MPI) Europe The Agenda and Program (EMEC) will be held in Luxembourg from 3 to 5 March 2024.
EMEC brings the European conference and events community together in a way that no other organization can and focuses on three key design principles: 1) the event is designed by Europeans for Europeans, 2) it is an incubator for ideas Environment, 3) MPI ensures local influence is integrated into the overall experience.
Now in its 35th year, EMEC continues its tradition of excellence through its Hosted Buyer Program, which includes high-caliber plenary speakers, unique learning formats, concurrent education courses and business networking. The host venue, the European Congress Center Luxembourg (ECCL), will be the venue for most of EMEC’s programmes.

EMEC’s Opening Reception and Closing Night Rendezvous will conclude the event, providing opportunities for networking and entertainment in a relaxed environment. The first day’s opening reception will be held on March 3 at the Luxembourg Museum of Contemporary Art Mudam, where attendees will network while enjoying free admission to the renowned art museum. On March 4, the MPI Foundation Party will be held at the Big Beer Company, and there will also be time to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the MPI Foundation at the event. The entrance fee to Rendezvous is included in the EMEC Luxembourg registration.
There were high caliber and inspirational plenary speakers throughout the event’s agenda. MPI’s opening plenary featured Özlem Cekic, a former Danish parliamentarian who is now secretary general of Bridge Builders, an organization dedicated to fostering dialogue and promoting cultural understanding. On day two, host and entrepreneur Michael Jackson will talk about event design and attendee engagement in the new event era. The next morning, Sandro Ford will talk about how attendees can leverage their personal brand to stay competitive. The final closing plenary session will be led by experts from the Event Design Collective, who will present research revealing the top ten reasons why events fail and how to strategically prepare your event for success. Event participants can create their own event design capability diagnostic report.
Recognized by the global industry for its unique format, there are a variety of education options available, with a total of 26 parallel education courses and four unique hands-on learning journey experiences. These locally-sourced educational learning tours are active, anytime and anywhere, and are specifically targeted at EMEC participants. Participants learn in small groups and visit off-the-beaten-track locations. This year, attendees can choose one of four different tours: visit the Luxembourg Air Rescue Team, go backstage to a historic cinema with Song Division, explore the future of hospitality and tourism at the Letzeburg City Museum or visit Luxembourg No. Enjoy a sensory gastronomic experience at Hotel Foote Kirchberg. Each learning journey is associated with an area of professional development.

Event attendees can take up to 11 continuing education units from educational course topics covering a range of skills and knowledge areas relevant to meetings and events professionals; all supported by the MPI Academy. The concurrent education program has seven different conference formats focusing on topics such as generating artificial intelligence, sustainability, attendee engagement, venue selection and community building.
EMEC’s Hosted Buyer Program welcomes buyers from the United States, Canada and throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa to make one-on-one, face-to-face appointments with suppliers from around the world. This thoughtfully designed intimate and boutique-style program has been handpicked based on the planners’ presence in the European, Middle Eastern and African markets. Buyers will arrive ahead of EMEC on Saturday and enjoy local fare, including a Luxembourg City Rally Food Tour, where they will see historical sites, sample local cuisine and more.
