Are you passionate about helping employees and managers solve complex HR issues? Do you have a keen eye for detail and the ability to provide expert guidance on employee relations matters? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to serve as an Employee Relations Representative2. As part of our Employee Relations Center of Excellence, you will play a key role in providing timely, consistent and effective HR advice to our HR business partners, managers and employees. You will be responsible for investigating complaints, providing guidance and explanations of policies, and recommending corrections or discipline. what will you do:
• Provide guidance and advice to managers on the handling, investigation and disciplinary action of performance issues, including documentation and legal reviews, and participate in the development of performance improvement plans. Oversee company disciplinary actions to ensure consistent and fair application of company policies and procedures.
• Provide guidance and advice to managers regarding the company’s employment termination process. Works with internal and external legal counsel as appropriate.
• Conduct investigations related to employee complaints, including allegations of harassment/discrimination, violations of policies and procedures, and compliance complaints. Make recommendations on next steps and appropriate discipline; support the ER COE Manager in high-level investigations when needed. Works with internal and external legal counsel as appropriate.
• Respond to “judgment-related” inquiries from HRBP, managers and employees to educate on policy intent, interpretation and clarification.
• Provide guidance to HRBP and functional managers on how to establish performance appraisal feedback results and provide them to employees.
• Provide consistent methods, practices and procedures to ensure fairness to employees, compliance with company policies and legal defense.
• Participate in HR projects, processes and functions involving HR and account team leadership.
• Work with corporate disability management on issues related to workers’ compensation, work arrangements, sick leave and return to work.
• Analyze employee relations trends to identify root causes and propose appropriate and creative solutions. Drive continuous improvement in employee relations policies, practices and the way services are delivered.
• Analyze departure dates to determine reasons and trends behind departures.
• Conduct training to make employees aware of the company’s employee relations policies, namely, progressive discipline, harassment and discrimination, and wage and hour compliance.
• Build and develop relationships with HR business partners and other HR COE leaders to understand future business challenges and proactively identify issues to manage/avoid employee relations issues.
• Ensure leaders and employees understand department and company policies.
• Provide support for the rollout of human resources plans, programs and policies.
What do you need:
• High school diploma or state-issued equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of human resources experience reflecting an increasing level of responsibility, including employee relations experience; or 6 years of human resources experience, reflecting an increasing level of responsibility, including employee relations experience.
• Experience handling sensitive and confidential information.
• Requires up to 5% of time travel to corporate offices, facilities and/or meeting locations for orientation, training, meetings and events to meet development, departmental needs and business delivery needs, with or without reasonable accommodation. If applicable, this may be in addition to the travel requirements listed in this position description.
• Required to be 18 years or older. If applicable, this may be in addition to other age requirements listed in this job description.
What makes you unique:
• Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of human resources experience (reflecting increasing levels of responsibility), including a minimum of 3 years of employee relations experience.
• Experience in employee relations investigations, including interviewing employees and witnesses, and writing investigation reports based on analysis of investigation results. Experience reading, analyzing and interpreting the most complex documents.
• Experience responding effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
compensation
• Published recruitment salary range: $81,000 – $121,600
• Actual compensation paid within this range will be determined based on factors such as the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, internal equity, and consistency with market data.
