Research findings on the integration of artificial intelligence and the hotel industry offer a glimpse into a future where the lines are blurring. McLean, Virginia – Hotel Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) Foundation released its Third annual talent status report The report reveals this year’s hospitality industry trends that are impacting talent in sales, marketing and revenue optimization.
“This year’s report builds on last year’s report and captures new trends in the industry,” HSMAI Foundation Executive Director explains Robert GilbertCHME, CHBA. “We also showcase examples of leaders who create inclusive, dynamic and forward-thinking work environments and share best practice.”
The 9 key talent trends identified in the HSMAI Foundation Special Report: The State of Hotel Sales, Marketing and Revenue Optimization Talent 2023-2024 are:

One of the trends explored in this year’s report is the dynamic of a multigenerational workforce—how different age groups bring unique strengths and perspectives. According to this year’s State of Talent report, staffing levels are expected to return to pre-COVID-19 levels by 2031, and HSMAI predicts new hires will be slow to enter the workplace, so the talent retention strategies outlined in the findings Critical to industry executives.
