Unlike some boozy events, Vancouver Cocktail Week is more than just one big party (although it offers plenty of opportunities to raise a glass and drink). Unlike other boozy events, this isn’t a trade show where you wander from booth to booth sampling sips of something (although it does offer a ton of exciting new spirits, bitters and cocktails to taste and try ).
Vancouver Cocktail Week is a celebration of community, not just the city’s talented bartenders and industry professionals. It’s also a celebration of you, the guests they serve, and the whole reason this industry exists.
That’s why VCW events aren’t held in conference halls, but in bars and restaurants where the best bartenders in town can show you what they do best.
That’s why VCW24 has something for everyone, whether you’ve just discovered cocktails, want to add to your recipe collection for your next dinner party, expand your knowledge as an industry professional, or just enjoy a fun night out on the town.
Here are some of the exciting experiences you can find at VCW24, taking place March 3-10.
For the home bartender who wants to improve his skills:
Attend one of VCW’s many workshops to learn how to make better brunch cocktails, brush up on your classic cocktail knowledge, or learn all about vermouth, bitters, tonics, or your favorite tipple.
For locals and tourists who want to explore the city’s best cocktail neighborhoods:
Don’t miss the cocktails at Gastown, Yaletown, and Main Street, and sample the changes the city’s best bars are bringing.
For those on a budget:
Enjoy the full fun of the Cinq à Sept series. Throughout the week, dozens of bars and restaurants from Acquafarina to Zarak will be serving up signature cocktails, snacks, entertainment and more at these ticket-free events, celebrating the happy hour between work and home life.
For food lovers:
Anyone who loves food (almost) as much as they love cocktails will definitely want to grab a table at Botanist’s signature Sunday Cocktail Brunch, one of VCW’s most popular annual events and featuring this year’s rock star bartending team You are invited to Bar Swift from London.
There are also sumptuous dinners on most nights at some of the city’s best restaurants, including a four-course Amaro Lucano dinner at Bar Corso, a Cognac Ferrand cocktail dinner at Tableau Bar Bistro, a Middle Eastern feast at Giffard at Zarak, and a Campari at Carlino , Brix’s Flor de Caña rum and PiDGiN’s “Birds of a Feather” collaborate, featuring Japan’s OWL&ROOSTER and Nikka whiskeys.
For star-struck globetrotters:
Don’t miss guest shifts and pop-ups hosted by some of the world’s biggest bar stars, including:
- Jesse Vida, best known for his role in the New York film Dead Rabbit, is now a partner in the tequila-style Singaporean speakeasy Cat Bite Club;

Attending a VCW event can support and promote the hospitality industry, which is still recovering from pandemic lockdowns, supply chain issues and countless other challenges. Don’t forget, VCW is a proud supporter of the BC Hospitality Foundation and a portion of the proceeds from the closing night party will be donated to hotel workers facing medical challenges.

There’s also delicious food, DJs and live music for you to dance to, as well as over 35 premium spirits brands for you to sample. Please note, this event also supports the BC Hospitality Foundation.
