ask Congratulations on being the top performer at the HR Excellence Awards! How did your HR and people strategy contribute to your success this year?
At PwC, our talent strategy is an online strategy based on the “New Equation”. We focus on building trust through a people-centered and technology-enabled approach to achieve sustained results. We’ve built a diverse community of solvers who work together to create meaningful experiences for our employees.
Translating this experience into our graduate recruitment program, we focus on inspiring growth and learning opportunities for the campus community and the coaching culture that is the foundation of PwC. Working at PwC means embarking on a career journey that prepares and develops you to thrive in a dynamic, dynamic and evolving market. Our graduates and interns have more opportunities to build professional knowledge and build their own journeys based on their interests and job responsibilities, growing into competent and confident professionals.

ask Looking back at your achievements, what aspects of HR initiatives are you most proud of and why?
Our team understands the importance of a seamless candidate experience. This process begins with us working closely with educational institutions and understanding the expectations of the next generation of talent. We then carefully design projects (think work-study internships) and create a community of leaders within PwC who are ready to help drive these projects to success. Only then can we reach and engage the campus community, meet these expectations and bridge these gaps.
Before applying to PwC, candidates can attend our tea parties to understand our approach and value proposition, continuously interact with our talent acquisition team, attend invitee events and multiple other touchpoints and platforms.
So even before they graduate, they already know about us, our opportunities, and develop a relationship with PwC. After joining, they become familiar with PwC’s services and propositions and have a clear understanding of what they can expect from their career at PwC.
ask What major obstacles have you faced in your HR journey? How did you overcome these obstacles to achieve excellence?
As a professional services firm with a diverse offering, it can be easy to become overwhelmed among the different service areas. An auditor’s day may look different than a tax professional’s, but our commitment to our employees remains the same. We communicate this by reinforcing our employee value proposition, PwC + Me.
Regardless of service area, our young talent can expect meaningful work, memorable experiences and mentorship along their journey with us – a journey that is consistent across all touchpoints throughout the candidate journey.
ask How does your organization measure the success and impact of its HR programs?
Over the years, our recruitment and staff development efforts have earned us multiple recognitions from independent organizations such as Gradsingapore S100 Leading Graduate Employers and cosmic most attractive employer ranking. Best of all, our numbers speak for themselves, with nearly 90% of employees who joined PwC as graduates confirming that PwC provided them with opportunities to work on challenging assignments that helped for their development.
ask Given emerging trends, where do you see the HR/people function heading in the future?
The key emerging hot topic is artificial intelligence, and we are already seeing the impact of “talent intelligence” on talent acquisition decisions, skills matching and forecasting. As the world’s leading professional services company, PwC has always been at the forefront of technology, but still adheres to a people-centered and technology-empowered strategy. This focuses our approach in disruptive times – both in how we succeed as a company during the pandemic and how we continue to engage the young talent of tomorrow as they begin their careers with us.
Our commitment to human-led will allow us to continue to invest in our candidate journey, paying close attention to the changing needs and desires of the next generation of talent, even as we grow and develop them in the field of artificial intelligence, because they are ready to serve our Customers deliver results.
