To meet the needs of a modern workforce dedicated to fulfilling CSU’s academic, research and outreach missions, CSU has begun purchasing a state-of-the-art human capital management system. Through a multi-campus approach, this cloud-based solution was developed to meet the changing and diverse operational needs of Colorado State University’s Fort Collins and Pueblo campuses.

To that end, Colorado State University in Fort Collins and Colorado State University in Pueblo will work together over the next two years to replace the outdated human resources systems currently in use. In addition to posing significant business continuity and cybersecurity risks, these current systems fail to keep up with modern technology and operational and business needs and can no longer effectively meet the needs of Colorado State University.
Another advantage of implementing a modern HCM system is the ability to minimize redundant systems and automate existing manual processes. This streamlined approach will enable the realignment of staff time and resources to focus more time and energy on students, researchers and CSU colleagues.
“This cross-campus effort will help Colorado State University make processes more efficient and easier to use, which will be visible to our employees, leaders and potential candidates. It will support our efforts to attract, retain and hire top talent , to serve our teaching, research, service and outreach missions,” said Eric Ray, Vice President of Human Resources.
The development of the new HCM is currently in the pre-implementation phase. The request for proposals will be released in mid-December 2023, with a submission deadline of February 15, covering HCM software and project implementation partners. Subsequent steps include evaluating vendor proposals and identifying vendor finalists. These finalists and their project implementation partners will be invited to present software solution demonstrations to the campus community in the spring.
