The California Lottery is seeking Senior Project Manager (IT Specialist II) “Determine the path forward with a collaborative attitude and enthusiasm to help successfully deliver enterprise projects that directly support our business and strategic goals.”
According to the job posting and job description, the responsibilities of this position include:
- Lead and manage complex enterprise projects across the Lottery portfolio; drive successful project outcomes.
- Actively manage the progress of the projects you have developed, while identifying risks, problems and ensuring timely decisions; and provide regular project communication to stakeholders.
- Align with PMI best practices to ensure continuous improvement of project management standards, guidelines, processes, procedures, methodologies, templates and other supporting materials.
- Provide enterprise project management thinking and expertise to assigned projects while providing support to department project leaders, sponsors, and other stakeholders

The Employment Development Department (EDD) is seeking SQL Server Database Expert (IT Specialist I) Performs “engineer-level technical tasks to produce a robust SQL server environment.”
According to the job posting: “In addition to performing maintenance, operations, and enhancement tasks in the SQL environment, the Database Administrator collaborates with the support team to ensure successful integration of SQL Database with applications and resolve SQL Database-related issues. Application issues, testing new patches and releases, and assisting with critical production glitches.”
Desirable qualifications include:
- SQL Server database management knowledge and skills.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain regular, consistent, predictable attendance and occasionally work beyond scheduled work hours.
- Ability to communicate with highly technical and business-oriented customers.
- Ability to provide technical guidance to others.

The California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) is seeking Portfolio and Business Analyst Manager (IT Manager I) Coordinates with colleagues “to ensure that new initiatives and projects are appropriately scoped, requirements are clearly documented, appropriate timelines and budgets are developed, and appropriate resources are provided for the work.”
According to the job posting, the manager will support the chief information officer in “directing the work of assigned staff in planning, executing, controlling, transitioning and closing projects within the California Department of Human Resources and the State Personnel Council, and coordinating implementation with external parties.” Entities may include other state departments, agencies, local government entities, legislative bodies, and vendors. “
Qualifications required for this position include:
- Demonstrated knowledge of Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Certified Scrum Master or equivalent certifications.
- Understand state government procurement processes and procedures.
- Learn about the California Department of Technology’s Project Approval Lifecycle (PAL).
- Strong leadership skills.
- Ability to assess, manage, and prioritize changing workloads that must be aligned with mission-critical business needs.
