Following the first chapter with Kengo Kuma, DAMO’s collaboration with Melodie Leung marks an exciting chapter in the Luminary series. Known for her innovative designs and sculptural forms, Leung collaborated with Fiaz Elson of The Glass Foundry to create a mesmerizing glass object. Taking more than 500 hours to create, this stunning sculpture embodies elegance and sophistication.
More than just a display piece, the sculpture will become a vessel for the rare 49-year-old single malt whisky. Described as a symphony of flavours, this whiskey delivers an unrivaled sensory journey with notes of fresh roasted chestnuts, cassis, Madagascar vanilla and sugared almonds.
But the Luminary range isn’t just about craftsmanship and flavor, it’s also about giving back. The 2024 edition will be auctioned at Sotheby’s in May, with proceeds going to the V&A Museum in Dundee, Scotland’s first design museum. This philanthropic effort adds another layer of meaning to an already remarkable collaboration.
To commemorate this important moment, Dalmore will also launch a special 16-year-old whiskey in April, allowing fans to join in the celebration. With every sip, whiskey lovers can raise a glass to the fusion of art and liquid gold while contributing to a worthy cause.
