The findings released Thursday found that Graves not only held a side job as a midwife, but also held a completely separate, full-time remote human resources job for another company on city hours for years — an ethics violation that resulted in a $17,500 fine and a $17,500 fine for Graves. According to BEGA, she did not disclose any of this work to her supervisor. As of Monday, her LinkedIn page described multiple jobs.
Blackstone and Capitol Hill’s Dowlas did not immediately respond to requests for comment on Graves’ employment status.
Initially, Graves told officials at the Office of Government Ethics that she was doing extra work outside of government hours in Washington, but investigators soon discovered that was false. On other occasions, Graves sent Blackstone emails or met with Blackstone employees during government business hours in Washington, or used her government email to communicate with Blackstone employees, BEGA reported.
