Butzel has promoted Lori Thomas Simoncic to chief operating officer, Edward M. Przybylo to director of operations and Dana Burleigh to director of human resources.
Simoncic is celebrating 24 years of working with Boozer. She has held positions in the human resources department including chief human resources officer and human resources director.
She is responsible for the planning and execution of all aspects of Butzel’s short- and long-term growth goals as well as all aspects of the company’s operations.
Simoncic is a member of many corporate committees. She also chairs the company’s Privacy and Cybersecurity Compliance Committee and is a member of Butzel’s Artificial Intelligence Working Group.
She served on the advisory board of the Midnight Golf Project, an organization dedicated to helping young people succeed in college, careers and beyond through golf training.
Simoncic also supports Folds of Honor, an organization that helps the families of fallen military heroes through scholarships and other support, and is a founder of American Dunes.
Simoncic earned his bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant and his master’s degree from Ball State University in Indiana. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA).
Przybylo leads Butzel’s operational functions across 10 office locations across the country. His career has focused on operations and account management in the legal, manufacturing, commercial and automotive sectors.
Przybylo’s expertise includes new technology deployment, asset management, client relationships, change management, leadership development, contract negotiation and process improvement.
For nearly a decade, Przybylo has led Butzel’s operational planning and coached professionals in all aspects to efficiently and cost-effectively deliver the service programs that are an integral part of the company’s operations.
He has implemented numerous initiatives in various departments critical to the company’s operations while achieving financial improvements and productivity gains for the company and its customers.
Przybylo earned a bachelor’s degree in information technology and security, networking from Baker College in Royal Oak. He is a member of the company’s Privacy and Cybersecurity Compliance and Technology Committee.
Burley has an extensive human resources background. She joins Butzel in 2022 as Human Resources Manager. Prior to joining Butzel, she served as an office manager for a local law firm.
She manages Butzel’s legal support team. She coordinates employee recognition programs, analyzes compensation and oversees the company’s performance management program. Burley assists legal support staff with organizational training and development efforts, including coordinating with technical training specialists for skills assessment and project development.
She develops, recommends and implements human resources policies and procedures and maintains the company practices and procedures manual. She participates in the development of department goals, objectives and procedures and works with company managers to coach, consult and mentor them on company policies.
Burleigh is also responsible for the day-to-day management of the company’s 401(k) benefits. She oversees and manages the company’s PTO. She collaborates with other departments, Butzel’s leadership, and various committees on corporate initiatives.
Burley earned a degree in business administration and management from Macomb Community College.
