Q: Congratulations on winning Best Performance in the HR Excellence Awards! How did your HR and people strategy contribute to your success this year?
Thank you, we are absolutely delighted to receive a Silver Medal for Best Leadership Development in the Industry.
At Fujifilm Business Innovation Center Singapore (FBSG), we firmly believe that if “we grow our people, our people will grow our business”, leadership development is embedded throughout our people strategy, which consists of four Composed of key pillars designed to achieve our mission as an employer of choice.

Q: Looking back on your achievements, what aspects of your HR initiatives are you most proud of? Why?
At Fujifilm Business Innovation Center Singapore, transformation is in our blood and our HR team are true business partners, playing a vital role in our ongoing business transformation and ensuring our Business prepares for the future of work:
- Invest in talent development so they can grow and advance
- Go back to basics and involve all functional managers in unlearning and relearning
- Form a community of support and instill coaching habits to bring out the best in every employee
- Challenging the way we work through hybrid working models
- By listening to and responding to our employees, our employee engagement results have improved, and we’re very proud of that.
Q: What major obstacles have you faced in your HR journey? How did you overcome these obstacles to achieve excellence?
The pandemic has created unique challenges for our employees and our organization. During this period, we also changed our company name to FUJIFILM Business Innovation Singapore Pte. Ltd. (formerly Fuji Xerox Singapore Pte. Ltd.) to reflect our commitment as a company that always pursues business innovation.
We have seen the skills required in our business change and they will continue to do so, but our never-stop, get-better mentality enables our business to continue to transform as we invest in our own development, our commitment to Forget about learning and being open to learning. Relearn and commit to stepping in and stepping up to make a meaningful impact.
This mindset is reinforced at every level through rich communication to help our employees understand their need to invest time together and take ownership of their own personal and professional growth.
Q: How does your organization measure the success and impact of HR programs?
The impact of our HR programs is measured through hard and soft measures and a variety of channels:
- Understand employee satisfaction with engagement surveys and provide detailed metrics on employee engagement, DEI, work styles and happiness
- Dashboard to measure employee turnover trends and reasons for leaving
- Conduct regular face-to-face communications and focus group discussions with stakeholders

Q: Given emerging trends, where do you see the HR/people function heading in the future?
Artificial intelligence and machine learning will replace some human tasks and jobs and change the skills required of the workforce, both internally and externally.
We need to prepare our employees for the future, keeping up with new trends and technologies, learning new skills and developing new ways of thinking. We will play a more critical role in developing the agility and adaptability of our employees, upskilling them and preparing them for tomorrow.
