Zoning permits and new renderings have been submitted for a fully affordable project located at 10550 International Drive in Oakland, Alameda County. The application comes after plans were scaled back last year from 207 to 140 homes. AMG & Associates is the project applicant and owner.
The 77-foot-tall building is expected to be approximately 155,800 square feet. Apartment types will include 106 one-bedrooms and 34 two-bedrooms. Parking spaces can accommodate 70 cars and 42 bicycles. Of the 140 apartments, 28 will be deed-restricted as affordable for very low-income households, 111 will be for low-income households, and 1 will be a market-rate residence for on-site managers. Residential amenities include two outdoor patios, a fitness center and a lounge area.
Orange Architects is responsible for the design. The firm describes the project as having “simple mass articulation” that will create a “strong vertical presence along International Boulevard.” The collage-style façade scheme will include breaks, changes in parapet height and changes in colour. Exterior materials will include stucco, brick veneer and fiber cement siding.
Thomas H Phelps was a landscape architect. Insets show site improvements will include sidewalk trees, planters and two podium roof courtyards. Ruggeri-Jensen-Azar is a civil engineer.
The 1.07-acre parcel is located along International Drive between 105th Avenue and 106th Avenue. The project will be adjacent to the Oakland Station condominiums at 1428 105th Avenue. Estimated construction costs and timelines have not yet been determined.
