These forecasts are based on insights from thousands of recruiting professionals, talent leaders and extensive LinkedIn data and cover a variety of topics, Includes artificial intelligence in recruiting, skills-based hiring and the growing focus on Quality of employment (QoH)—It is currently listed as a top target for recruiting professionals in 2024. However, due to the historical challenges of tracking and measuring QoH, The recruiting team is redefining QoH metrics to consider the following factors: Job performance, team fit, cultural alignment, productivity and retention. One observation I made about these metrics is that some of them rely heavily on the hiring manager’s perceptions and assessments, focusing primarily on the near-term aspects of the incumbent’s current role. Given the rapidly changing skills landscape and organizations’ heightened focus on long-term internal mobility and talent mobility, I recommend incorporating long-term QoH measures as well. These may include assessing an employee’s potential for future roles and job opportunities within the organization, as well as developing skills that are critical to the future of the organization. Embracing this long-term view of quality will require looking beyond the recruiting manager’s perspective and integrating disparate sources of talent data throughout an employee’s tenure.
