Construction is underway on the next phase of the Township 9 master plan near downtown Sacramento. Ten multi-unit buildings have been topped out, totaling 372 garden-style units across four blocks. 29th Street Capital is the project sponsor, working with Bridge Investment Group and RevOZ Capital.
The current phase will see 372 homes built across 10 buildings covering 377,000 square feet. Work is also completed on the LRS Architects-designed clubhouse, which will give residents access to a fitness center, game room, lounge, workspace and outdoor pool deck. Architects Local in San Diego are residential architects. The illustration shows that the homes will eventually be connected by setbacks and private balconies.
The apartments are adjacent to Cannery Place Apartments, a five-story affordable housing complex with 180 apartments. The apartments opened in 2015. The full expansion of Town Nine is expected to bring more than 2,300 units, 800,000 square feet of office space and 150,000 square feet of retail space.
If the work is completed, the townhouses will be the lowest density option in Town Nine. More housing is expected to be built along Riverfront Drive, with an average of 100 to 280 apartments per site. Earlier last year, a new building permit was filed for the five-story Hyatt Regency hotel at 629 Richards Ave.
Residents can reach downtown Sacramento in ten minutes by bus or bicycle. It is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
