Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam faces serious shortages in both quantity and quality of human resources in information and communications technology (ICT)-related occupations. According to a report from the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (MIC), there are approximately 1.5 million people working in the ICT field in Vietnam. Currently, there are 168 universities and 520 vocational schools across the country providing information and communication technology training, with more than 84,000 graduates every year, including about 50,000 at universities and about 34,000 at junior college and intermediate levels.
