Lynda Markoe, a well-respected human resources professional who has worked for several major companies, has been named chief human resources officer of RWJBarnabas Health, effective immediately.
In his new role, Markoe will be responsible for leading the system’s human resources function and spearheading the department’s transformation initiative, One HR.
Reporting to Chief Executive Officer Mark Manigan, Marco will be a key member of the executive team, working with leadership to refine and leverage the health system’s people processes in light of the new organizational model and evolving enterprise. She will play an important role in driving the culture of kindness and responsibility that is embodied in RWJBarnabas Health’s mission.
Markoe brings deep expertise in talent management and development, with extensive global experience and expertise in guiding HR capabilities across multiple locations and the ever-changing business lifecycle.
“Lynda is a highly regarded human resources professional with more than 30 years of experience in retail and consumer products,” Manigan said. “She has a proven track record of success, most recently serving as chief people and culture officer for Bed Bath & Beyond. Leading HR during a period of rapid change and transformation. I am confident Lynda’s extensive experience in retail and customer experience will serve us well.”
Prior to joining Bed Bath & Beyond in 2020, Markoe held human resources positions of increasing responsibility at national apparel leaders such as J. Crew and Gap Inc.
She graduated from Binghamton University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a concentration in International Relations. She serves on the boards of several educational organizations.
