We are currently recruiting an energetic and experienced sales professional to join the Deschutes Brewery team as a Regional Sales Manager Headquarters are in Boise, Idaho (Boise headquarters is preferred, alternative location is Spokane, Washington). The region will include management of the dealer network in Idaho, eastern Washington and Alaska.this Regional Sales Manager Will serve as a key member of the sales team responsible for building and maintaining relationships with our distribution and customer partners to promote Deschutes Brewery products in the region. The Area Sales Manager is responsible for achieving assigned sales and profit goals, assigned distribution goals, sales targets for each store and ensuring all account standards. This role is a first-level business leader responsible for managing multiple dealer and retail accounts. This position requires travel; ideal market hours are 4 days per week. High expectations are required for communication and contribution in all internal, market and dealer interactions.
What you will do:
- Act as the “face of the brewery” to communicate and interact with distributors, retailers and consumers.
- Directly focus on dealer focus and execution and serve as the primary in-area communicator and business manager for dealers in assigned territory.
- Conduct dealer review, planning and forecasting of all order windows, new product releases, POS and inventory orders.
- Oversee and direct the inventory management of all dealer partners – ensuring agreed-upon appropriate inventory levels to achieve forecast targets, support all programs and activities, and avoid all stock-outs.
- Conduct and execute sales presentations, kick-off meetings, final development/approval of GSM, communicate new products, brand and quality standards, brand priorities, sales tools and incentives
- Increase customer and domain awareness and market share and focus on the growth and development of the brand and product portfolio.
- Communicate, ensure and enforce brand standards.
- Find and execute promotions, events, sponsorship opportunities.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers in designated regions
- Work with Divisional Sales Managers to develop and align regional operating budgets and expense plans.
Job Requirements:
- College degree preferred.
- 4+ years of proven experience in brewery or distributor sales management preferred.
- Must have excellent working knowledge and skills related to dealer processes (three-tier system), national accounts, achieving results, market analysis, inventory management, market trends, retail execution, forecasting and budgeting.
- Proven abilities and results in team management and development.
- Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills.
- Top organizational and planning skills.
- Demonstrates a proactive spirit and excellent motivational and influencing skills.
- Ability to use all standard Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) proficiently.
- Knowledge of KARMA/VIP or similar systems is preferred.
- Must own a reliable, registered and insured personal vehicle for business travel.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) screen and 7-year criminal record background check.
- Must be able to travel within assigned area 4 days per week.
- Ability to perform the physical activities required by the job duties, including occasionally lifting and moving objects weighing up to 55 pounds alone and moving heavier weights with assistance; Ability to bend, reach, stoop, climb, and perform tasks in designated areas Other body movements related to selling, displaying and marketing products.
