Munich. The Supervisory Board of BMW AG today extended the contract of Management Board Chairman Oliver Zipse until 2026. Zipzer has been a member of the Management Board since 2015 and Chairman of the Board of Directors since August 2019. The BMW Group has significantly expanded its electric vehicle range and now offers fully electric models in almost all of its core segments. In addition, development of the next-generation model Neue Klasse has also begun, with production starting in 2025.

At today’s meeting, the Supervisory Board also appointed Jochen Goller to the Management Board of BMW AG. He will succeed Pieter Nota on November 1, 2023 and will take over the Customer, Brand and Sales functions. Nota took over the division in 2018 and played a key role in significantly accelerating sales of all-electric models in recent years and systematically digitizing customer interfaces. In addition, he strengthened the BMW Group’s brand portfolio, including BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce brand and further developed the international sales organization to achieve a sustainable, customer-centric sales model. Since he took office, the BMW Group has significantly increased its global market share to more than 2.5 million vehicles in 2019, setting a sales record. In 2023, under his leadership, the BMW Group’s sales are expected to once again reach or even exceed pre-COVID-19 levels.
“The Supervisory Board would like to thank Pieter Nota for his great dedication and, in particular, the important driving force he brings to the sales organization with his extensive experience outside the automotive industry,” said Reithofer. “With Jochen Goller, we are appointing a sales manager with international experience to the management board, as well as a proven China expert who knows the BMW Group’s largest market inside out.”
Jochen Goller has been with the BMW Group since 1999 and has worked for the company in the UK and China for more than ten years in various cross-brand functions. Since 2018, he has managed events in the China region very successfully. During this period, the BMW Group acquired a majority stake in its local joint venture BMW Brilliance Automotive. Gawler was also previously responsible for the MINI brand.
